Celebration Spoiled Due to Delay and Wrong Steps

Despite the remarkable achievements of these young achievers, the ceremony got off to a bad start, with an hour-long delay and some unfortunate mistakes. The program began with the exchange of tokens of appreciation by BSEK officials and the guests, leaving the officeholders waiting behind the stage.

A Language Oversight that Needs Attention

Another unfortunate incident during the function was the use of outdated and objectionable language in the context of deaf and mute students. BSEK President Dr. Syed Sharaf Ali Shah inadvertently used the term ‘deaf and dumb’, which is considered derogatory and derogatory. Such examples highlight the need for greater sensitivity and awareness.

Academic Victory in Three Major Categories

  • Deaf and Mute Category: Deva Academy for the Deaf emerged as a shining beacon of success with all the top positions secured by their students. Muhammad Sohaib stood first with 967 marks out of 1,100. Barira Islam secured second position with 963 points, followed by Maham Kashif with 949 points. The overall pass percentage for this category was an excellent 99.12%.
  • Science Group: In the Science Group, girls maintained their dominance and secured the top two positions. Shaheera Fatima of Metropolis School for Girls stood first with 1,044 marks out of 1,100 marks. Rabisa Ali of Falcon House Grammar School stood second with 1,035 marks, while Muhammad Umar Iqbal stood third with 1,031 marks. The overall pass percentage of this group was a commendable 86.30%.

Syeda Khizra Amir of Iqra Haffaz Girls Secondary School secured second position with 959 marks, and Nashra Asif secured third position with 947 marks. Challenges and Acceptances

In his welcome address, the BSEK Chairman acknowledged the delay in the declaration of results and attributed it to the challenges of cooperation with the Sindh government. He expressed his gratitude to the private sector and the Board staff for their support.

Secretary Noor Ahmed Samu extended hearty congratulations to the students and especially the Karachi Girls who topped the SSC Exam Results, their parents and teachers, emphasizing the important role of teachers in shaping young minds.

The ceremony concluded with the BSEK president and secretaries of universities and boards walking away without taking questions or allowing the post-holders to address the media – an unusual deviation from the norm during such ceremonies.
